David Hasselhoff. A name that most of the world know. Whether it be as Michael Knight from Knight Rider or Mitch from Baywatch. The German’s happen to know him because they think he’s a singer of some sort?
But how can one explain the phenomenal global success of one of the worlds least talented individuals? It’s quite simple really, you can rearrange the letters in his name and it spells out:
Fad of devils hash.
So it makes perfect sense. David Hasselhoff is insanely popular because he struck a deal with the devil.
But that was all a long time ago. He’s grown old since then and accepted that he’ll quietly fade into obscurity with the millions he’s gained. The only downside is that others realised how much there is to gain by striking a deal with the devil.
So which other person was inspired by the Hoff in terms of obtaining fame and fortune through little talent? No, I’m not referring to George Bush Jr, I’m talking about Rick Astley! Why else would all of a sudden in 2007 the phenomenon of “Rickrolling” occur to the extent that it was estimated that by April 2008 at least 18 milion American adults had been Rickrolled?
Such is the power and influence of Rick selling his soul, that the minions have taken up the task of promoting him endlessly.
Which brings us to today. With the Aussie developer Ashley Towns being credited with developing the first iPhone virus. It currently can only spread to jailbroken iPhones where users haven’t changed the SSH default password, but once it does, it changes the homescreen to a picture of none other than Rick Astley.
So any iPhone user that’s been inconvenienced by all this virus business can blame the Hoff. But we can all learn the following lessons:
· Even if its small and makes phone calls. If it has similar processing power and networking capabilities as your PC / laptop, then the chances are your phone will catch a virus of some sort in much the same way
· Always change any default system passwords, that includes the SSH password on your jailbroken iPhone
· By Rickrolling you are doing the devils work
